Chance me for NYU? Will chance back!

Okay, so here's the deal. I took the SAT in June, and I'm predicting a 710 math, a 660 reading, and a 680 writing. Now, I feel that these scores are decent for NYU, but here comes the problem with my gpa; I have a 3.5 unweighted (4.01 weighted), along with one C on my transcript. I will post the rest of my stats so that you can accurately chance me.

AP Scores:

Stats: 4
Chem: 4
English: 4
AP American History: 4
AP European History: 4
AP Microeconomics: 2

ACT: 28 (re-taking on Saturday, and hoping for a 32+)

Extracurriculars:

Student Council Secretary
Member of the Math Club
Secretary of the Key Club
Treasurer of the technology club
2 years of track and field
1 year of tennis

Ethnic Background (Hispanic: Bolivian)
Gender: Male
Income Bracket (if it matters): 80,000-100,000
Location: North Florida

Do you feel that I have a good chance of getting in?

Hi chance back on mine please it’s the second most recent one called chance please.

I’m not an expert but ur grades seem fine. Colleges like to see that u have overcome a challenge. Therefor nothing that really stands out though but o would say mid to high reach

NYU places value on the SAT’s, from what I have heard.
Take SAT Subject Tests as well. NYU requires 3.
Pretty good chance, but you should probably involve yourself with volunteer work. Summer is the perfect chance!

Chance me please! We have similar GPA’s, and the same target school!

I forgot to mention, I will have 80 volunteer hours by the time I apply.

bump bump bump

i would say you have about a 50% chance at admissions. NYU is not quite as selective as some other upper level schools, and your sat scores are fairly solid, although your ecs are fairly standard. Make sure you have excellent recs and a unique and thoughtful essay, and you have a decent chance.

I’m pretty sure NYU only requires 2 SAT IIs. I’d say that you have a pretty good chance as long as you are able to improve your SAT score.

Chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1160479-recommend-some-colleges-ill-chance-back.html

thanks! Bump

URM: check. Decent scores: check. Decent grades: check. IN. Being an URM, there’s pretty much no question… IN

You’re defintiely a URM - so that’ll help you. Your AP scores look good - maybe more focus on your EC’s - and hopefully you do better on your ACT! If not, don’t stress it. Your ethnicity will help you a lot, trust me!!! good luck on your ACT!!! You’ll be fine - don’t let people on this website tear you down because of a single score :]

Chance me back :] Appreciate it!

You need to develop EC’s, leadership positions, what makes you “stand out,” and a little bit more community service wouldn’t hurt. Being well-rounded is important, though not as important for a place like NYU. I think that for NYU your GPA and grades are decent enough. So are your SAT scores. I’d say you’d be a low-reach for NYU, or percent-wise something around 70%-80%. What do you want to major in?

Chance me back?

NYU does not require any SAT 2’s:

The SAT Reasoning Test or;
The ACT (with Writing Test) or;
Three SAT Subject Test scores (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language test of the student’s choice) or;
Three AP exam scores earned prior to senior year (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language of the student’s choice)
