Chance me for NYU

I plan on applying to NYU Shanghai for the Fall 2015 entry. I am an international student (Asian, to be more specific). In my school we follow the British curriculum so don't really know where I stand in terms of GPA. But my other stats are:
O-level: 6As, 2As (A is the highest grade possible)
AS-level: 3As, 1C (A is the highest possible grade at the AS-level)

Head Girl in O-levels.

I was the only student in my year to achieve an A* in English Language, Economics and Accounting in O level and graduated valedictorian.

A year ahead in school.

Official Reporter of my campus in AS year. My article was published online on the school's official website.

Recited 'Naat' (solo) every year in the Eid Milad-un-Nabi for ten years. The crowd used to be over a thousand.

Member of the student council every year for nine years. (we had council members in every grade)

Library Assistant at my school for one academic year.

Won a full merit scholarship to complete my A-level studies based on my O-level records.

Completed my O-level on a full merit scholarship also, based on my middle school performance.

Helped organise PTMs, class parties, debate competitions etc.

Won a spelling competition on the district level. Was later interviewed by a national TV channel on my achievement.

Blogger (the blog does not get a lot of hits)

Volunteered for a week at a local institute for the handicapped.

Captain of the school's Table Tennis team.

Member of the school's Badminton team.

Summer Intern at my school's Accounts department (July 2014).

Made a reasonable profit from my stall selling donuts and coffee at the Bake Sale in my school.

Vice Captain of the Accounting Team.

Qualified as the top fourth team in the CIMA Accounting Quiz 2014.

Hosted the Farewell Party 2014. (managed the event quite well given that the task was given to me last moment, the original host had taken ill)

Participated in the city's biggest Model UN. Regular member of the Debates Society.

Business Studies teacher calls me 'the best student he has come across in his entire teaching career'.

Accounting teacher nominated me for a world wide distinction (top in the world). However the distinctions are yet to be announced.

These are the ones that come to mind. Considering I am an Asian student, will NYU SH take me? I won't add a lot to their 'student diversity'. I am also worried that my choice of subjects was too narrow. (Business Studies, Economics, Accounting, English Language). Will this affect my chances a lot? I really want to get in.

Wow, your O/A level grades are very similar to mine. You’re Pakistani, right?
What about your SATs?

Yes, Pakistani.
I have registered for the November SAT. It’d be my first and only attempt.
Are you applying to NYU too?

I will. Just aim for somewhere around 2000. 2100 to be very safe. Some of these ECs are good, but some aren’t relevant like the Milad one or the PTM. So just be careful while presenting your ECs on your application. Overall, you’re fine. You have a chance. Btw, which school are you from?

Yeah, I’ve been told. Thanks anyway.
What about your SATs?
I’m from the Beaconhouse School System. Yourself?

Im also planning to go to NYU…tbh NYU shanghai should be an easier reach compared to NYU in nyc. I think you would have a good shot, just do well in your SAT.

P.S im also a pakistani lol im planning to take my SAT on oct. and nov.

And I’ve always had this weird obsession with the Chinese culture so I think I’d blend in pretty well. :stuck_out_tongue:
Do you mind sharing your grades and other stats with us?

Math 690
Writing 710
Cr 630
Overall:2030

I’m from Froebels

Are you going to apply ED or RD?

RD. I live in Pakistan but I’m a US citizen so that’s an advantage.

But don’t you think they have more applicants applying from the US as it is? Just wondering.

They might compare me with people who take O/A Levels but I’ll still be reviewed as a citizen.

bump.
Need more replies.
