Hi, my name is Mehreen. I'm not sure where I stand with my chances for getting into NYU, but let me tell you about my grades and maybe you guys could help :) I'm most likely to rank in the top twenty, my cumulative average is a 4.0. I'm hoping to pull of a 1900 or higher on the SAT, I know that's on the low end but I'm just being realistic. My volunteering and extra curricular look very well, I was involved throughout all 4 years of high school, I had two jobs, played sports. I took AP courses and honors classes throughout the years and I am also an minority. What's making me scared is that I did fail my one physics regents; Sparing the personal details, I had a bad day and hard year. Besides that, I've always got about 80 or above on each NYS regents. I'd like to know, will my one failing grade account much towards my chances of getting in? Will my minority help me as much as I think it will? I know NYU looks at the student as a whole, so is that SAT grade towards the lower end? I basically just want to know my chances considering I write a pretty good essay. Thank you guy so much! :)
And if anything else that could help towards the admission process.
