Hey y’all, I’m super nervous about this, and UNC is my dream school rn, so I’ve decided to do this. Please let me know how I fare!

GPA: 4.3/5.0 (W) 3.9/4.0 (UW) (School doesn’t give additional weight to honors classes, so weighted may actually be a bit higher)
CT: 35, 8/12 on essay

Junior at UNC here. GPA, standardized tests, and AP exams look excellent. Lots of EC’s and leadership. I’m sure you know all about how tough it is to get into UNC OOS, but even considering that you’re OOS, I’ll say that assuming your essays and letters of recommendation are strong, they will definitely have a tough time turning you away. I’d honestly put your odds at about 80-90%.

Looks like you’re looking at Premed- have you considered any direct admit programs? Your ECs would make you competitive for several BS-MD programs!

Freshman at UNC that got in OOS here. I’d say your odds are fairly good when compared to others, I noticed at UNC the key component of your application is extracurriculars/work that you have done that exemplifies the values of UNC. I was involved in lab work at Yale, so I think the fact that you worked in a lab at UGA is great for your application as it shows initiative and interest in your major. Best of luck!
