Chance me for Penn and I'll return the favor!

Hi,

My top school is currently UPenn and I'll probably apply there ED. My school had 4 kids admitted there this year, in fact it seems we send a lot of kids there.

I took the ACTs yesterday (I probably got a 33, one point higher than last time), and SAT II's last weekend...just an FYI Penn's ACT range is 31-34 so hopefully the 33 will look good...if not, the 1460 isn't too bad either...

I understand that Penn is a reach for everyone but I would like to know if I have a shot. Leave me a link here and I will chance you too...without any further ado, the Stats Profile!

Ok for Penn, as you know, nobody is really a match, but your stats arent gonna hold you back! Youve got good stats, maybe try and bring the SAT up a little if you dont get that 33. Id say American youre in, and Emory youve got a great chance at. Just wondering, why arent you considering Rice?

Chance me back please?

thanks for the opinions guys, yea my top 4 are Penn, Amherst, Wash U, and Emory…any other thoughts?

Yeah those sound like good ones. Emory shouldnt be hard, and look at oxford of emory as a safety (i sure am!) will you chance me back?

westham:

i did hahah…any other thoughts?

i think you are in to upenn, vandy, and wash. Yale is probably a reach.

thanks sox! that is encouraging…i reallly hope I get in there…the dorms are a little questionable i hear but its such a great school and the athletic facility was awesome! do you need me to chance you in return?

Damien:
I didn’t want to put up my unweighted GPA because I’m honestly not sure what it is…its probably around the equivalent of a 95, or a 4.1 in my school.

My scores were 1460/2190 on SATs, a 32 on the ACT (which I retook last weekend and likely got a 33)…does that help?

other thoughts?

Those SAT and ACT scores seem within range of maybe the middle 50% of Penn people.

College: American University- match
College: Carnegie Mellon University- high match
College: University of Pennsylvania- ED?!?! I would say mid-reach at best.
College: Washington University - low-reach
College: Amherst College- low reach
College: Emory University- low reach
College: Georgetown University- low reach
College: Yale University- high reach
College: Vanderbilt University- reach
College: Johns Hopkins University- mid reach

Lots of reaches… meaning you’ll get at least 3 of them :)

I’m not 100% that I’m going to apply ED yet to Penn, it really depends on ACT scores…but a lot higher % of people get in ED there…

Djokovic I think that was a pretty realistic assessment…I may or may not apply to Yale, but Penn and Amherst would be my two mid to high reaches, while Emory and WashU I would say I have around a 50-50 at each, and Vandy and Hopkins (I have a connection) being around 60%. I also might consider Duke and Rice. Thanks though!

other thoughts?

In at WashU, Emory, and Amherst if you really are being recruited by all 3.

monstor:

I have been in contact (and in fact met with) all 3 coaches…it is possible that I may be able to play at one of the three, i will see next weekend for sure when i go to a soccer camp at amherst…

other thoughts?

College: American University- in
College: Carnegie Mellon University- high match
College: University of Pennsylvania- reach
College: Washington University - low reach
College: Amherst College- low reach
College: Emory University- low reach
College: Georgetown University- low reach
College: Yale University- reach
College: Vanderbilt University- high match
College: Johns Hopkins University- reach

I’m not sure what the athletic situation would do for your chances as the schools are D-III. If the coaches do recruit you though then your chances will increase.

Please chance me back:
