Chance me for Penn School of Nursing (ED)

No class rankings. But definitely within the top 10% at the number one public high school within my region.
Asian-American
GPA: 4.0 UW
SAT: 2190 (will retake possibly) I'm also going to be taking the ACTs
SAT subject tests: 790 Bio M, 800 Chemistry, 740 Math 2
AP: Biology 4 (taken during the year when it just changed; only 5% of nation got 5s), 5 Chemistry
School: Competitive Public school. Ranked 1 in region, and nationally ranked as well within top 50 i believe
Senior Course Load: All APs courses except Health, Band and U.S. Government
-- I take the most rigorous courseload at my school minus history (my school offers a lot more honors courses)
Extracirriculars:
Varsity Tennis (4 years)-- League champions, also got a recognition for playing in conferences
Community Service Club (junior year, and will be doing it senior year)
Another Community Service Club (11-12) (Dont want to mention names in case someone can identify me this way)
Research course in my school- conducted my own research this summer and will be competing in Intel and such
Play the piano and chinese harp. (used to play the violin for a couple of years as well), and I play flute in band
I paint and draw for fun (i take classes)
Awards: just a minor award - 3rd place in a science competition sophomore year, best radio commercial for school project, national merit semifinalist
Volunteering at a hospital in the Nursing Unit (this summer throughout senior year; 4.5 hours per week)
I volunteered shadowing a scientist for probably 100+ hours last summer
-Chartered my own club this year and will be president. This club is for diabetes/health awareness. We will fundraise and such for research
-Was in a science program/journal club at the medical school i researched at

I am just afraid of my lack of hospital volunteering.... however, does research help? I feel like the reason why i didn't have time for hospital volunteering was due the demanding research hours. Also, I was accepted into a shadowing doctors program at a hospital, but had to deny the opportunity because of research conflicts. Please chance me, thank you!

Hi @chocolate108‌
great question for the Nursing sub-forum
<a href=“Nursing Major - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/nursing-major/

I don’t know anything about Penn School but there are some parents who have knowledge about nursing schools in the NE, PA, NJ area in the nursing forum. If they see your thread, they might be able to offer some help
