My gpa is really low, though.

GPA 3.32 unweighted, 3.58 weighted
SAT 2100 superscored. I just took Oct (my third time) and am awaiting scores. Hoping for a 2200+
7 AP classes/8 honors
A bunch of ec's although I know Rutgers doesn't look at them.
What are my chances? If I apply within this week early action will my chances increase?

If you apply early, your chances are better. You stats are OK so I think you might have a good chance. Good job on the SAT!!

I got in with a lower SAT score but higher GPA, so I definitely think you’re getting in. I didn’t apply as early as you are, either, so you’re most likely in. ;)

mytwosons: thank you i worked hard on the sat lolol. and yeah, i’m hoping i’ll slide by with some luck…

righthandinleft: how high was your gpa, if you don’t mind me asking? thank you for the encouragement, it was much-needed!

@rutgershopeful Don’t worry about it! My GPA unweighted was around a 3.8 (I don’t know the weighted score though XD), and my SAT score was 2040 when superscored, which is already below the general pharmacy SAT stats. Your SATs are soooo much higher than mine, and your GPA isn’t low by any means, so I really expect you to get in. If you get your application and SAT scores in on time, I would think there’s a slim chance for you to /not/ get in.

haha, thanks for the encouragement
are you a current student there? you wouldn’t mind me pm’ing you right?
and your unweighted is so high compared to mine! i wish my gpa was higher…
how do you like rutgers pharm so far?

apply to UOP (university of pacific) they have a 5,6, and 7 year program for pharmacy. I strongly, STRONGLY recommend you apply. My sister did, and her stats were not that great, but she had strong EC’s and she got in. If you’re sure on doing pharmacy, UOP is good, and i also know there is a school in masachusetts as well.
good luck.
chance back please!

^ Haha, Cali’s a bit far >_> but congrats to you sister! pharmacy’s an amazing program, so i wish her the best of luck.
and yes, Massachusetts has MCPHS and Northeastern - however, i’m not applying to Northeastern, as it’s too expensive ><

Your GPA is going to hurt you, as EMSOP heavily relies on SAT scores and GPA for admission. If it’s possible, try to take the SATs again and try to score a 2200+. If you can, I think you would have a solid chance of getting in.

Another school you might want to look into is UConn, although they do have a 2+4 program which is annoying. Buffalo also has a great 6 yr pharmacy program, but…it is in BUFFALO. Very cold, snowy, and far…

And you should still apply to northeastern I think. You never know what kind of aid you will get. I visited and it is a beautiful, modern campus, yet still in Boston
