Chance me for Pitt!

I just visited Pitt and I loved it. It's my first choice right now, but I'm worried about getting in.

-SAT: 1940 (650math, 650reading, 640writing) planning to take them again and realistically expect my math score to go up.
-GPA: ~3.56
-Upward trend (in difficulty of classes and grades) freshman year I only took one honors class and my GPA was around an 82, soph year I took 2 honors classes GPA was an 86, junior year took 2 honors classes and my gpa was a 95. This year I'm doing all honors and AP (AP psych and AP gov).
-currently have a job
-currently playing school and club lacrosse
-class officer (treasurer)
-ski club

-writing my essay (about overcoming a struggle) about managing my time this year and adapting to a busy schedule with work, a sport, being a class officer, and taking harder classes (I switched to AP Gov and honors English half way through the first quarter of my senior year so I had a ton of work to make up) my English teacher is very intelligent and plans to help me out with it.
-3 letters of rec, 2 teachers one from counselor

All responses are appreciated!

You’ll probably get in, as your SAT score is decent. GPA is a little low, but I’m sure you will be fine. Make sure to really show who you are in your essays, don’t lie to make yourself look better because it will sound fake.

Thank you very much! My main concern is the lack of rigor of my schedule leading up to this point, and I got 2, maybe 3, B’s this quarter. I know for a fact that my grades will be better the second quarter because I’ve learned to manage my time and my boss has recently allowed me to study when I’m not busy at work.

You’ll get in

thanks, it just seems like everyone that’s been accepted is more qualified than I am. Also if it helps I’m in SADD club this year (students against destructive decisions) and project manhood last year (visit elementary school and help the kids)

If applying for general admission you should be fine. Specialty schools (Business or Engineering) are showing high GPA with hard core classes along with higher test scores.

Can you explain this to me? Don’t they make you choose which school you’re applying to when applying?
