Chance me... for placement in S-H

Haha, sorry about the Chance Me. I'm an enrolled student already, so none of that "AGGH! I'm 10 and I only got a 33 on the ACT my last time... will I EVER get in to HPY???" here.

Anyway, I'm totally in love with Snell-Hitchcock. I've heard it's hard to get in to, but how hard? I put it as my 1st choice and my housing materials were received January 31st (was admitted EA). Based on prior experience, is this early enough to get a spot there, or should I start weaning myself from planning a freshman year in S-H? (Or should I just get a life and not worry about it at all? :) )

Any advice/prior experience appreciated.

The housing system works in mysterious ways. I have friends who requested to be in S-H (and got in) up until April, so I really have no idea if it's first-come, first-served or not.

S-H is the dorm with, as some may argue, the most concentrated amounts of awesomeness, but the other dorms have their own personalities too. I think Snell-Hitchcock is desirable because it's classy and it's on the quads, but BJ is in better shape (and equally beautiful) and Max is equally convenient.

So good luck on getting the dorm you want, but even if you don't get it, you'll fall in love with whatever dorm you're living in.

i am hoping to get SH too! wish we can be dormmates gracello!

Going for SH as well, though I sent my stuff in on April 3ish.. RN for the loss.

aaaahhhh S-H!!! I want.

me toooo. armadillos rock.

GAAH yeah, S-H peeps!
I still need a hip roommate, though...

I hope you do, gracello, because I put Snitchcock first and my application was received Feb. 2! I'm a girl, and a light sleeper, so I'm hoping for a single.

S-H won the SCAV HUNT!!! victorious again

Snitchcock is wonderful: fun is definitely alive and kicking. My son has greatly enjoyed the people, ambiance and location in his two years there. I suspect he will be back to visit next year - he will be an RA at another house, so that will be quite a change!

Although I hope that all of you get your first choices - as other have said, all the houses have something special going for them. And, if your house doesn't suit you, there's this thing called the housing lottery .... that I won't even try to describe... that lets people switch around for the following year.

One suggestion - when you get your housing assignment in, I think, July - one of the roommates should arrange to bring a fan. There will be some warm days in September, and Hitch does not have AC.
