first off, AMAZING scores! you seem very promising, and you as well seem like such a great writer. i think the fact that you know what you want to study is also going to give you a necessary push.

I don’t know much about the IB system, so I can’t say anything about the courses you took, but judging by your GPA and you being a valedictorian, well done!

your ECs are great as well, however these tops and ivy’s might consider them average. don’t get me wrong, they’re all really good in my opinion, but then again, i’m not a top school that is receiving applicants from all over the world. Work on them and make sure that they would show characteristics like leadership, determination, and most of all passion. and finally, have a simple EC that is related to the field your interested in studying (shadow a chemical engineer, enter a contest related to it… anything that’ll show them your passionate about this field and you really know what you are doing.)

Your scores are definitely something that might catch admissions’ attention, and your EC’s are great, but there isn’t really an EC that’s outstanding. The thing is that test scores aren’t as important as most people think they are, and it’s the little things that add up. And though your EC’s are good, they won’t be what tips you in favor of acceptance. I still think your chances are pretty good though (almost great). The thing is, those colleges are so competitive that even the best, most outstanding students should consider them a reach.

You’d very, very likely be able to get into schools like Duke and Cornell.

All three of these are reaches, but if you went one tier lower (like Duke or Cornell as previously stated) you’d have much better chances. You have great scores, good courses, all of that, but nothing particularly outstanding. Internships would be an excellent supplement.

You have a pretty good chance at getting in.

Um I’m a first time poster but could someone tell me my chances at getting into NYU, Stanford, or Harvard.

I’m a junior, taken two AP’s cause there aren’t that many offered until you’re a senior and my whole schedule is going to be AP’s next year. I have an 3.3-3.4 GPA UW right now expecting to finish this year with a 3.7.
I haven’t taken the SAT nor the ACT yet but I’m planning to do so in March.I don’t have a ton of EC’s cause I’ve had to watch my siblings while my mom works after school so I haven’t had time to.
I was recently inducted into NHS,and idk if it’s something good on a college app but could someone tell me if I have a chance.

Oh and I’m taking the Math II subject test, and U.S. history subject test

So could someone please tell me my chances.
Thank you in advance

Everything is impressive but your ECs may be a little weak for those schools. I hope you applied to more reaches because even with everything else, the lack of competitions/engineering related activities prior to university admissions may hurt you.

You’re scores are very good, and that makes you competitive at any school you apply to.

So obviously it is always a hard call for top schools, only the top students apply and even then only 10% of them get accepted. Here’s what I would guess:
Princeton - Reach, only because it always is
Yale - Low-ish Reach, you know how ivies can be
Stanford - Match, but there’s always a chance they could reject you.

Apply to all of these schools, and I’m confident that at least one will accept you, but also find at least one safety school. I can’t emphasize enough that with these schools, you never really know.
