- I would say they were very good. My common app essay was about the experiences I've gained from living in so many countries (Scotland, Norway, Canada, USA, Nigeria).</p>

- Assuming excellent. Didn't read them, but both teachers really enjoyed having me in their classes, and are teachers that I speak with regularly at school (outside of the classroom). My counselor gave me "Very Demanding" on course rigor though.</p>

- Princeton interview went quite well. My interviewer was a recruited athlete, so we talked about sports quite a bit along with the other typical interview stuff. He continuously told me throughout the interview that I would be a good fit at Princeton for what that's worth.</p>

<p>Probably. There isn’t anything phenomenal or unique about you, you’re just an URM. And Canadians are not grouped together with East Coast Americans. Canadians are considered international students; the reason your father told you not to apply for financial aid is because it would decimate your chances since you’re an international applicant.</p>

<p>I do not see anything special / a theme in your ECs. They seem to be a little scattered. With that said, I think there is a reasonable chance they accept you given your SAT/URM combo.</p>

<p>For those of you saying his chances are good because he’s a URM, think again. Black internationals are not trated the same as African Americans.</p>

<p>^^^ It doesn’t matter nothing stands out. I might have a chance if I was a URM, but Sherpa is right I’m just an international student. There’s no real reason for Princeton to accept me when there are so many other people who bring the same credentials.</p>

<p>I should’ve just listened to those people from when I first joined CC who told me I had no chance at top American schools, it would’ve saved me a lot of time on applications.</p>

<p>Besides, if I got rejected from Duke (although I applied for FA at Duke), what chance do I have for an even more selective school like Princeton. If I get in it would be a miracle. Maybe a pidgeon will come in and carry my application from the decline to the acceptance pile.</p>

<p>Hey, doubting yourself is the worst thing. I don’t believe there is a hook to get accepted into a college. No one knows how a decision is made. I applied to Brown and someone doubted me because of my 21 ACT score…I didn’t really care though because I know an ACT score or GPA do not define a person. Princeton is just like every other school looking for the kids who will bring something to Princeton. They like the kids who are committed to something and I truly see you like basketball, airforce, and traveling to different countries is something that not every essay will have. Every little piece of the application is going to help you. You do not need to have people tell you if you are worth getting in or chancing you because they are not the not admission counselors. March 30th!! You will receive a legitimate answer, so good luck and “Don’t stop believin.” haha</p>

<p>^^^ A lot of schools say they’re need-blind, but to be honest I think they do look at your financial information and consider at (at least for International Students). If they didn’t they would ask for financial aid forms after decisions were made.</p>

<p>Yale got my forms after the decisions date (EA) and accepted me (international).</p>

<p>I had a friends accepted to H a couple of years ago and then got told AFTERWARDS that she could apply for FA…</p>

<p>The reason they ask for the forms beforehand is so that they can give you a response at the same time as you get your decision. I was late with my P fin aid stuff and emailed them. They told me that getting your finaid forms in by the deadline only guarenteed that you would get your money stuff at the same time as your decision and that if they were late you may get it later.</p>
