Whatcha think?

I’m guessing you’re indian…academics are average and ECs aren’t particularly good (esp. given your ethnicity). Chances aren’t good.

You definitely have a chance, but you’ll need your ECs to stand out more. Try for some state or national awards, definitely get your SAT above 2300, and make sure you’re in the top 5% or higher of your class. If it’s not too late, you should also consider doing research and entering Siemens or Intel.

I think you need something that separates you from the crowd. Getting into Princeton from NJ without a hook and nothing unusual is unlikely.

mmm it’s too late for you to enter siemens this year, and it’s also too late to try and compete in the intel isef affiliated fairs. It’s not too late however, to try and compete in Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS). But I agree you should work to try and enter siemens and intel next year.
For music, try to get into all-state. That’ll help a lot. Also I know that all-eastern and all-national come back into cycle next year, so you should go for those as well, they help a ton.

@dblazer: why do you think he’s indian?

He went to new delhi, works at kumon, and lives in new jersey

I think your stats are pretty decent, but maybe not enough for Princeton. If you’re a URM, i would say that you have a good shot, but otherwise, it’s a pretty far reach - mainly because of your SATs and rather scattered ECs. Pick something that you’re passionate about and focus on it; your ECs and everything else don’t seem to really show anything about YOU other than the fact you’re a pretty well-rounded kid. But they want a well-rounded CLASS.

(chance me back? :])

Don’t listen to dblazer. He is negative as **** and loves to dish out criticism. On his own chance thread, when people critisized his stats, he was very defensive. Some of what he says is true but the rest is pessimistic BS.

Sorry annoyingaakash, I don’t like to falsely inflate people’s people’s expectations at institutions where less than 1 in 10 applicants gain admission.
