~ABOUT ME/ HOOKS~

International Student, living in the Middle East

One of the younger ones in class (turning 17 just before graduating), if that means anything.

-I live in a place where girls can't work (McDonald's, stores, etc.), and I can't volunteer within my community (it is really frowned upon).

~ESSAYS/ TEACHER RECS~

-I've always loved writing, so I expect essays are pretty good.

-Counselor Rec.: Really good

-Chemistry Rec. :Probably very, very good

Now even though you have extremely impressive stats with numbers that take AOs off the charts, I think the lack of brilliant ECs might hold you back.

If the “out-of-country volunteering” is really something impressive, then i think you have a fair shot. It depends on the program, and what ECs of yours support what major you intend on doing. Regardless, princeton is always a reach.

goodluck!

Holy crap that’s amazing about the national medals!! Yes, you may have fewer ECs than other hyper-achieving Princeton applicants, but you seem very capable of getting in.

ECs are weak so I’d have to say it is still a reach. Good luck!

I forgot to add in, I run a book review blog, and I’ve received ARCs for reviewing from publishers.

If I could go back in time and add a few extra ECs, though, what would you guys suggest doing?

Quite fair…your essays will have a lot of bearing on your decision though 'cause you seem like you have A LOT of potential to effectively engage academically and socially at Princeton.

You have a really great chance.

Thank you for the replies! What else could I have done that would’ve made me stand out more? (I posted this as a junior.)
