Chance Me for Production Major at Emerson

I will be applying Early Action to Emerson as a Production major. Thank you for taking the time to read!

GPA: 3.8u/w, 4.15w
4 AP classes: AP US History (5), AP Government, AP Literature, AP Statistics (these last 3 are senior year courses)
Honors Classes: Physiology, Chemistry, English 3, Advanced Biology
SAT:2040
Currently working two jobs. One is a film internship and the other is a job working for the city.
I have a short film which I will be submitting as my Creative Supplement. Through my film internship I have worked on video’s for the mayor’s office, a local museum, and we are going to be doing a documentary piece for PBS NewsHour.
On my own, I have created a campaign ad for a local candidate for mayor, which they will be using on their website.

EC’s:
-film club (3 years)

-Tobacco Peer Education (1 year)
-Red Cross Club-Spirit and Publicity (1 year)

Volunteer Work:
-Bernie Sanders’ Presidential Campaign
-local animal shelter
-Coastal Clean Up
-multiple health related events (marathons, blood drives, etc.)

-Honor Roll all 4 years
-Volunteer Recognition Award from the mayor

@film1999 I think you have a really good shot at being admitted! your film internship, creative supplement, and additional ECs are very strong and very related to what you want to pursue in college. I honestly think you got this.
Also, one question - did you put down “media arts production” as your intended major?

@brookemitchell Yes I applied as a Media Arts Production major with a specialization in Film and Television Production

@film1999 do you know if it’s possible to change your concentration within the media arts production major after applying? like right now, I’m applying with an intended concentration in photography, but would I be allowed to switch to film and television after a semester or a year?

@brookemitchell I believe it would be possible to switch concentrations, but I’m not positive. I haven’t heard of any college that does not allow students to switch majors/concentrations so you should be fine!
