THANKS!!

Your GPA may be low to be a strong OOS candidate, seeing that the OOS acceptance rate at UNC is only 15%. Otherwise, you have decent stats. Your essays will need to be really strong.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it! Anyone else have input??

You will get in! Dont worry! Chance back plz

Does your school rank? If your rank is high then your low GPA can be explained via grade deflation.

Hey, I’m a current UNC student, so I can probably provide some insight. I’ll be honest: a 3.74 weighted GPA is lower than the average UNC student. However, your test scores are pretty good, as are your ECs. Being OOS, it makes your chances even smaller, as there are only 18% OOS accepted. You have a fair shot, I’d say, but make sure you apply to back up schools. Best of luck!

@Ach7DD- My school is ranked, and as of the beginning of senior year I was in around the 20% rank. This is not because of grade deflation, but rather because I have taken the absolute most challenging course load at my school whereas other students have taken easier loads, thus being able to get higher GPA’s and higher ranks. But I got a 4.3 this last semester, so I expect my rank to be somewhere in the 10-15% range when it comes out soon.

@tarheeler- Thanks!
