Fin Aid: I think my parents can contribute from $3000 -5000

Do I stand a chance?

Hey lemontreecmta, you definitely stand a chance. But since you are applying for a significant amount of aid, it’s likely to be tough. Your scores are good in general, and I don’t see a particular one that needs significant improvement, but if you could retake something in January (say Physics, and bump it up to 800) it would be a plus. The pool of internationals applying for aid is pretty competitive. :/

Agreed with equilibrium. You are definitely a competitive applicant, and clearly you’ve worked hard in school - great job! However, it is very competitive, especially as an international seeking aid. I would also say to try to maybe get your CR score up a tiny bot higher. However, you’re definitely qualified and I wish you best of luck in admissions!

thanks guys, that’s very encouraging. I did retake physics and literature this Dec and am waiting for the result. I will definitely continue to work hard on essays and see if carleton accepts me.

Hey there,

I’m a Carleton graduate. Your stats look pretty good to me. College is kind of a lottery these days though. Back when I applied it was quite a bit different. Definitely don’t go if you aren’t prepared for snow though…
