Chance me for Reed ED?

Hey everyone, I’ve been lurking these threads for a while and I’m pretty much obsessed with Reed. I’m planning on applying ED in about three weeks and soo if any of you guys could help chance me that’d be great!

ACT: 34 (35E 30M 36R 33S)
GPA: 3.89 W (my school only really does a weighted one)
Location: Massachusetts
Ethnicity: vanilla
Female, lower middle class in affluent area
ECs:
4+ years accomplished marching band (marimba, section leader)
2 years competitive winter percussion ensemble (section leader)
3 years lighting/special effects techie for musicals
I’ve gone to/worked at a YMCA summer camp, ~core values and leadership
Created a Writing Center at my school with a librarian, I frequently tutor (volunteer hours) and help train other tutors
Student member of a small non profit poetry outreach foundation
Volunteer at a soup kitchen
I also work as waitstaff at a retirement community part time
APs:
5 on APUSH
Currently taking AP Lit, Euro, Enviro, and Psych
Recs:
I think my teacher ones will be relatively strong, though I don’t have a very close relationship with my GC
Essays:
Common App is v. strong, emphasizes independence and creativity, also shows some of my difficulty with anxiety/depression
Paideia is about baking bread & self love, hopefully strong as well
I’m not sure about an intended major but likely something in the humanities.

I also interviewed earlier this fall which was alright, though I was a bit too nervous to really convey my personality. I go to a very competitive and stressful public school which is reflected in my grades (generally B’s with strong upward trend junior year to A-s, nearly all honors classes). I know they tend to view apps holistically, but I’m still concerned about my low-ish GPA and the face that I’ll need considerable financial aid. Anyway, any advice is greatly appreciated!

haaaay I’m a reed freshman in class of 2019 and u seem pretty good. my stats were waaaaay lower than yours. see ya next year!

You’re probably in, but still try your best!

@sailout Your chances are very good so try not to get too stressed when the admission time does come.
By the way, why don’t you hope on over to the 2020 ED thread, if you haven’t already. I think the RD thread might be a bit more active, but it’s always nice to have more people on the boat.

Haha alright, thank you. I feel like all the Reed admissions are so… all over the place so it’s hard to be certain about numbers- Kind of like any good school these days. I guess I’m just nervous because of the my GC recommendation and yeah I’m pretty obsessed with Reed so I hope to see you guys there next fall!
