Chance me for Rice ED??

<p>Ok so im a double legacy, and have 4 aunts and uncles that went there, AND my grandfather was a professor there. And while my rank looks low, last year alot of kids in the 100-200 range got into UChicago, Northwestern, and Rice. Someone in the 400s got into davidson. I am also a persian american, from houston TX</p>

<p>SAT Math: 800
SAT Reading: 740
SAT Writing: 670
PSAT: 223 (National Merit Semi Finalist, sure to be finalist)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.08
Rank: 115/750ish</p>

<p>Junior Schedule:
Soccer
IB English
IB Biology SL
IB Pre Cal
IB Spanish 4
ToK (IB theory of knowledge)
IB US History</p>

<p>Senior Schedule:
Soccer
IB Biology HL
IB Physics
Speech/Government
IB Economics SL
IB English HL
IB Math SL
IB History of the Americas</p>

<p>Im doing the IB Diploma plus some more IB classes</p>

<p>Extra Curricular:
Soccer 4 years (2 varsity) at a 5A school
Boy Scouts (Star Scout, patrol leader, den chief etc.)
I worked at a small CPA firm last summer, then started doing contract accounting for many companies. My resume looks pretty stacked
I also worked in a warehouse full time the summer after my junior year</p>

<p>Based on this, what do you think my chances are of getting into Rice ED??</p>

<p>the guys who studied IB from my country usually get into the big ones like harvard, stanford and the likes.
but again, there’s no IB instututions in our country which means these guys have done their IB’s abroad.</p>

<p>I’d say you got a pretty good chance…but i heard Rice admissions are hard to predict</p>

Hmm…your rank isn’t great, but I think that your PSAT and SATs are great. How about your GPA and grades for IB? If they’re As, then I think I wouldn’t worry about the rank because obviously your school is really competitive then. Double legacy plus tons of family there plays really well in your favor. All in all…I’d say you’re in. :)</p>
