<p>Hi everyone! Rice is my dream school, so I was hoping someone would be kind enough to chance me for Rice. I posted a chance before, but since I got my SAT score recently, I'd like to know how that would affect my chances. Thank you very much in advance! I really appreciate it!</p>

<p>PSAT: 204 </p>

<p>SAT: 2000 (Reading 720 Math 630-yeah I'm Asian and my worst subject is math lol Writing 650)</p>

<p>ACT: Recently took my ACT, haven't gotten the score yet, but I felt way better on the ACT than the SAT, plus I was sick on the SAT day so hopefully ACT is better)</p>

<p>Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0</p>

<p>Weighted GPA (out of 6.0): 6.58571</p>

<p>Rank: 2 out of 573</p>

<p>AP: World History-4, took US History & Chemistry & English Lang (gonna get the scores in July); taking English Lit, Gov., Eco., Calculus AB & BC, Biology, and Seminar next year, might self study AP Psychology</p>

<p>Award(s) Granted: TMEA Region Band, 1st Division UIL Solo (5 years in a row), HOSA Area Competition 3rd place, 1st Division UIL Ensemble</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities: Wind Ensemble (1st band-1st chair bassoonist), Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, National Honor Society (Treasurer), Interact Club, TMEA Region Band, Tutoring, Yuan Ji Wu (mixture of dance, martial arts, meditation, qigong, etc.)</p>

<p>Volunteer/Community service: 144 hours Hospital, Animal shelter, Babysitting, Tutoring, Library, NHS related Activities</p>

<p>State: TX</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Asian</p>

<p>Gender: F</p>

<p>Income Bracket: less than 25,000 annually, however $220,000 assets (because our house was bought before my dad lost his job & we never moved out or sold it)</p>

<p>Oh yeah, and I’ll be a senior. Also, I have an interview and tour scheduled in July for Rice. (Just in case interest in Rice is a factor) :)</p>

<p>Have some safety schools ready, but I think you have a really good shot at Rice especially if you apply ED! Try and get your scores up a little bit, though. Rice really looks at expressed interest :slight_smile: Good luck to you!! </p>

<p>I agree with the above. See how those ACT scores are and go from there. Definitely show interest - whether that be contacting them, joining the mailing list early on, visiting, or an interview.</p>

<p>If your ACT is good you don’t need to retake the SAT, but if it isn’t stellar you should consider retaking the SAT. SATIIs are also good to take. Right now I think you have a decent chance. My school always has 1 or 2 to Rice, and they have comparable EC’s and AP’s.

<p>Thank you for your replies! I’ll try my best to show interest! Fingers crossed for that good ACT score because I don’t know if I’ll be able to take the SAT II & retest the SAT before the application deadline.</p>
