<p>Hi, I am a rising senior, will be going into my final year of HS and I want to know what my chances are of getting into the following.</p>

<p>I've been in all honors since middle school.</p>

<p>Background: Pakistani, First Generation college bound student</p>

<p>Rank: 18-16/178-200
SAT I: (superscore, twice taken thus far)
Math: 570
Writing: 560
CR: 550</p>

<p>(i know its not that great, but i am taking it again in Oct, and ACTs for the first time in Sept.)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.1/5 (i have yet to find out what it is out of 4)</p>

<p>SAT II:
US History: 700</p>

<p>APs (Only taken APUSH (expect a 4/5) and BIO (expect a 3/4)) (my school only has a total of 8 APs (3 new ones that i cant take because no one matches the pre-requisites besides underclassmen)</p>

<p>My Schedule for next year:
AP Chem
AP Calc BC
AP Lit/Comp (So in my total high school career, I will have taken 5 AP classes)</p>

<p>ECs:
Art Club: 1 year
Environmental Club: 2 years
Italian Club: 1 year
Football: 2 years
Track and Field: 1 year
National Honor Society: 2 years
School Chorus: 2 years
Teacher of a Sunday School: 3 years
Job at a store: 3 years

<p>[I've never taken physics since I know i wouldnt do so well, I hope that is not a problem, i want to be a chem major, but yeah physics is not a strong point for me.]</p>

<p>I've taken Honors Bio, Honors Chem, AP BIO + AP Chem (taking)</p>

<p>I want to know my chances for Rutgers University, TCNJ, Boston University, NYU (possibly =/), Penn State. I'm aiming for state schools and schools around NJ. (NYU is a very long shot and BU is where I would like to go, and Penn State as a fall back)</p>

<p>So yeah, I know my stuff isn't top-notch CC stuff, but it's the best I can do lol</p>

<p>You have 24 hours to explain how Boston and TCNJ are reaches.</p>

<p>I’m not a chancer but I think NYU’s the only school where you kind of need to cross your fingers for. But yeah, get SAT up because NYU slobbers over standardized scores.</p>

<p>Yeah the only school here that is fairly unlikely is NYU just because of the SAT score. If you take the SATs again and the ACTs, and do better on both, then I say you have a solid shot anywhere you apply to on that list.
Work on community service, and some clubs have only been there for 1 year, some colleges think that this means you are “padding” your ECs (just doing them to look good for college) which is BAD. In your essays justify your ECs and show your passions!</p>

<p>Thank you LolCowz! I really appreciate that, your comment has given me an x amount of hope that was not there before! I will do that for the essays as you said, “justify” them. And yes, i am taking ACT + SAT, so i hope to do very well on them! Thanks again!!</p>

<p>If the SAT isn’t your thing, you should definitely take the ACT. I think the rest of your resume is great. Good luck.</p>
