Alright. Gonna keep it short and sweet.
A few sorta good things about me...
730 reading, 680 math, 560 grammar (fell asleep during writing)= 1970 SAT
29 ACT. Thinking about retaking because I got locked out for half a section.
two years of work experience
200+ hours of community service.
many rec letters
art portfolio...? (I have no idea if it'll help me or not. but... it's there.)
A few bad things about me...
3.1 uw gpa, 3.3 w gpa, at an academically competitive school.
...that I happen to be asian. ><
~
I'm thinking about majoring in psych, social work, hr management, business, finance or economics. None of these majors are too competitive, I hope. I'm a mediocre student... I know. :(
~
Schools:
UCSC (University of California Santa Cruz. I'm a california resident... so I'll not aim high with the UC system.)
U of Alabama (Someone suggested it. ^_^)
Ohio State (Might be a reach?)
RPI (I got a bunch of fancy letters from them for some reason, so, they're on the list.)
IU Bloomington
Fordham (It's a reach, I know.)
Northeastern. (NOT northwestern. oh god, no. I couldn't even think about applying there.)
~
...But, you know, if you feel as if I'd be a better fit for any other schools, feel free to post them!
:') I will be eternally grateful for your guidance, assistance, and any comments...! It's okay to be blunt. I'll take it in stride as best as I possibly can.

bump, I’ll take any advice…

UCSC: High match
UAL: Safety
OSU: High match
RPI: Reach
IU: Safety
Fordham: Match (your assessment of Fordham was incorrect)
NEU: Reach

Hey! Well first off, I don’t think that Fordham is a too far of a reach for you! For most of the schools you mentioned, your test scores are actually pretty good matches! The problem would be your GPA. Try to stress that your high school is very competitive on your application! That and really try to stress any volunteer experience or extracurricular activities that you may have participated in! That should help to make up for a lower GPA somewhat. That being said…
University of Alabama, IU Bloomington - Match
UCSC, OSU, Fordham - High Match/Low Reach
RPI, Northeastern - Reach

Thank you very much! :)
