Did u publish anything through your research program? You have good scores and a good GPA (but I am kind of confused on the 4.2, what classes did u take?). Did you take the AMCs? If so, how far did you go in the competition? I think you have a good shot but SCS has like a 5% acceptance rate so it’s rough. A CMU representative told me that SCS cares a lot about raw mathematical ability.

I took AMC 10 and 12 and scored a 118.5 and a 97.5 respectively. My weighted GPA is because of taking ap classes including calculus ab, bc, stats, physics B, ush, government and economics. Other than 1 4 I received all 5s. I submitted research and a computer science project in their slideroom page

  • i also took Ap computer science. Also I'm not sure if CMU considers this but I have all As in my ap and math and science classes. My 3 Bs are in electives

if it says anything, SCS students usually have an average AIME score of 6. But, I think you have a very good shot, just relax for like 3 weeks.

Would that be one of the weaker parts of my application? I’m not sure if my GPA is okay

I would not say it’s a weaker part, it’s just a part you do not have. What is your numerical class rank? (or how many people are in your grade?) How many kids does your school send to carnegie mellon usually?

My class rank is around 50/800 based on uw GPA. While we have 5-10 people admitted yearly, only 1 or 2 go
