Chance me for SDSU please

Hey everybody, I'm a transferring student coming from a California community college. I really am wanting to get out of here and get into a university and get on with my life and start. I know everything is not the best but I'm doing my best to get my grades and GPA up. I want to major in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. I want to get out and be a financial adviser

Right now my GPA is at a 2.59, After this semester is over I should have anywhere from a 2.66-2.72 transferable. I just finished application submissions so I guess it'll be a few weeks before I find out

My two top choices are SDSU and Cal Poly Pomona. If you guys could tell me what you think about my chances of getting into either one of those schools it would be great! Thanks

Your GPA would be a little higher but it is good! I think your chances at both schools are pretty solid! Just make sure you put your all into your essays and you should be okay!
Good luck with everything!
**Please chance me back!!

That GPA is a little low for SDSU and Cal Poly, but you might make it through.

What do you think would be an OK GPA? I mean you see where mine is, I have two semesters to try.

Well, Pomona is fairly competitive, and SDSU is even more-so. They are two CSU’s on the harder side of the scale to get in to. I do not have access to transfer data, but for freshmen admissions, at least:

Average accepted GPA for freshman applicants:
SDSU: 3.36
Cal Poly Pomona: 3.24

I think a 3.0 would be on the low side, and higher would be more desirable…

Yea I’m totally aware of the competitiveness of the two schools. I love both campuses and areas. Im not sure if it makes a big difference if its FRL for CPP. Someone told me they have a 80% acceptance rate but yea hopefully ill be able to get in.

According to a website I found, the SDSU transfer acceptance rate is 19%

That’s a really low GPA if you’re planning on transferring for fall 2014. I don’t think you have a chance, but then again you just never know. I have a 3.04 and I’m freaking out, idk about lower than a 3.0

I agree with the consensus above, I don’t think that’s good enough for either school.

Well when I finish in the spring I’ll have an associated, all golden 4 and all pre reqs completed and have a higher gpa. Right now after fall semester it’s a 2.66.
I was reading on here that someone got into Cal Poly Pomona with a 2.4 for Computer Information Systems in business that’s why I was wondering.

Your ‘Local’ CSU and non-impacted campuses will probably take you with that GPA. Hopefully you’ve applied more broadly.
