Hello everyone I am going to apply to SDSU soon my gpa is a 3.6 and my SAT combined math and critical reading is 1070.

I already know what I want to major in (Criminal Justice). I've done some volunteer at my local park for a kids summer camp program. Do you think there's a chance of me getting in?

Your GPA is pretty good for SDSU, but what is your total SAT I score (including writing)? Ideally you’d want about a 1700 - 1850, to basically guarantee yourself into the school. Do you live locally (near San Diego)?

Yea my SAT including writing was a 1590 but I am retaking it and hoping to get a better score. I live about 2 hours from San Diego same state too.

Pretty sure CSUs don’t count writing. Local service area does.

Yea only UC’s I think count the writing, but for what I have I think it’s average for a SDSU student

Oh, but when you apply does the major you choose also matter in getting in?

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in, just raise the SAT score up.
The major you choose can be impacted which can make it harder to get in sometimes, but I’m not sure how impacted criminal justice is there. Every school is kind of different even the public universities of California are when comes to the relation of admission and major.
