low SAT score and relatively bland ECs imo make you a mid reach for SEAS

Everyone applying has a minority chance of getting accepted at Penn or the other Ivies. That said, I’d estimate that you’ll be in the middle of the pack stat and EC wise.

Specifics: SAT is okay but not great (see stats below); SAT2’s should ideally all be 700+ and two of yours aren’t; rank at top 12% is somewhat low; EC’s are good in relation to the major you’re looking toward but a bit lacking in leadership; and unfortunately (while I don’t agree with it) being Asian raises expectations of the admissions reps so you’re looked at harder (versus URM’s getting somewhat of a break).

I’m guessing your SAT score is in the 35th percentile or so, based on the last incoming classes stats of:

(Here’s UPenn last incoming class 25th - 75th percentile scores)
SAT: Critical Reading 680-770
SAT: Math 700-790
SAT: Writing 690-790
ACT Composite 31-34

Regardless of my “means absolutely nothing” opinion, good luck!

You’re Asian; you’re not in the top 10% of your class; your SAT chemistry test is 80 points too low for SEAS; your SAT I is unimpressive with a low CR score. 54% of Penn is already filled by ED. So what do bring to Penn?
