Essays: some of the best I’ve ever written, spent days on a few of them (UCLA namely).

Teacher Recs: should be 10/10, from my counselor, english teacher sophomore year, and the head of the choir department.

Financial Aid: got a few writing scholarships, will not need much as family is not rich but well off and i’ve had a college fund for a while.

Hooks: not really?? first gen immigrant kid maybe, for schools that consider minority status: gay, biracial, asian male (?)

I’ll chance you back!

if you are a junior then why have you written essays and gotten recs already…

Oh you are a junior my bad I misread somewhere

***Senior

Can you and your parents afford UCLA as a nonresident?

@ucbalumnus yes, i’m upper middle class so parent + college fund can cover most charges

Your stats are definitely fine: I think you overloaded on EC’s (quantity over quality)… But I think you should have a good shot for most of the schools you listed. UCLA might be reach.

You should get into most of those schools, although UCLA might be a bit of a reach given you are out of resident. One way to find out is to calculate your UC GPA and then look at the freshman transcripts for this year. Here is a calculator for that. Remember, only sophomore and junior year grades count for UC GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

I think you have a fair chance at all of the schools listed. Best of luck

I think you have a good chance everywhere. Essays are going to make or brake you
