I know these posts are typically arbitrary, but I’d love to see what people have to say!
Name of Georgetown school you are applying to and major: School of Foreign Service and undecided as of rn
I’m basically just going to include everything that I’m putting on my application.

ACT (breakdown): N/a
SAT II: 780 USH, 760 Math 2, and 710 WH
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.83UW/4.29W
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): school doesn’t rank and won’t tell us percentile- but I’m guessing at least top 5%? School is ranked top 5 in my state, and near top 100 in the nation.
AP (place score in parenthesis): APUSH (5) APWH (5) Lang (5) Marco (5) Psychology (5) Micro (4)
IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
Senior Year Course Load: AP Comparative Government & US Government, AP Literature, AP Biology, AP Human Geography, AB Calc, Global Marketing, Advanced STEM.
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Typical AP Scholar with Distinction (unsure whether to list this or Governor’s School), several MUN and debate awards- most notably a Best Delegate award at NAIMUN (international model UN conference hosted by Georgetown) and NCFL Public Forum DoubleOctofinalist (Top 32 teams in the nation for Public Forum Debate), Published in the Washington Post
Subjective
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
Model UN 6 years from 7th-12th grade (Secretary General/Head Delegate, past Under Secretary General and Chief of Staff of school’s conference)- Honestly, I’ve devoted SO MUCH time to MUN over the past 6 years and I’m not really sure how I’m gonna show it, but I’m gonna dang well try. I helped grow our club from 10 members to over 100 in two years and lead our school to its first national ranking. Did pretty well, local/state/national awards. It’s cultivated my love for international relations which definitely pushed me towards Gtown.
Speech & Debate- (Debate Captain) 4 years- In the vaguest of terms, I helped organize a state-wide boycott against our state championship site and was featured in many news organizations for my efforts, as well as had an op-ed about it published in the post. Same thing as w MUN for awards. Pretty dedicated and love it lots, my life is basically dominated by debate and mun.
Class Council (Vice President) 3 years- Helped plan class activities basically.
Job/Work Experience:
Worked as a full-time Office Administrative Assistance for an Oral Surgeon summer before 12th grade.
Finance Intern for local Congressional Campaign summer before 10th grade.
Volunteer/Community service:
Youth Volunteer Coordinator for my mosque- ran a domestic abuse in Muslim families awareness campaign and raised over five thousand dollars for a domestic violence shelter.
Helped establish and run a nonprofit that brings free public speaking education to inner city and low income elementary schools. (obviously I <3 public speaking)
Summer Activities:
Virginia Governor’s School for the Humanities, summer before 11th grade.
Virginia Girls State- elected Federalist State Chairman, summer before 12th grade
spent the rest of the time working/volunteering
Essays: Ahhh currently writing those. Personal statement is gonna be a lil funky, I’m debating between writing about debate or MUN for my activities supplement, and currently deciding between the South China Sea dispute, violence in Kashmir, or WTO violations for the SFS essay.
Teacher Recommendation: 10th grade APWH teacher- guessing a 9/10- she’s AMAZING and loved me.
11th grade Lang teacher (also debate coach)- honestly could either be an 8/10 or 10/10 depending on what she wants to include.
Counselor Rec: 8/10, knows me decently well but I go to a huge school- we had to fill out a questionnaire so I gave her a lot to work with.
Additional Rec: May send, not sure
Interview: None yet.

Country (if international applicant):
School Type: Public, competitive
