<p>Here are my stats
Location: US permanent resident, but studying in Canada
High School GPA: 97-98%/4.0 (UW) if you like it in this way
AP/IB: No AP courses offered at my school, counsellor have said it on the school rec
ACT: (26 comp, 23 English, 28 Math, 24 reading, 27 Science)
SAT: Nil
SAT II: Nil
IELTS: (7.5 band, 7 listening, 7.5 reading, 6.5 writing, 8.5 speaking)
Major: Science/ Neuroscience
Recs: Super good - not even joking, (Top 5%)
ECs: This is what I used for apps
- Student Council President (Grade 12) (Fundraised $ for Children Hospital and world vision, started a mission that is there to help Special need students)
- Student Council Treasurer (Grade 11) (Fundraised $$ and advertisement)
- Volunteered at the Vancouver General Hospital
- Concert Band and Worship Band (Violin Sectional head)
- Volunteer in the Summer ESL program (Organized field trips for Summer ESL students)
Essays; Great essays - A lot of situations including parent sickness, bullying, and living in a foreign country + being independent.
Awards: Top student for 3 years
Honors with distinction (GPA > 90) for 3 years
Canadian Mathematics Competition School Champion
Science awards (3 years including biology and chemistry)
Social Studies awards (4 years including all social science courses) </p>

<p>Plus: Essays - Described my family situation and how I over came it
GPA - Stacked because I have a few courses that I have aced it (100%) like Chem 11
Top student and being the student council president
School evaluation and counsellor rec </p>

<p>Minus: ACT scores (I know)
Status as permanent resident and studying in Canada
No SAT scores
Poor IELTS score (I am such a bad standardized test taker eh?)
No AP/ IB courses </p>

<p>If your ACT were higher these chances would be a lot better but hopefully your ECs and essays can make up for it. </p>
