So I am going to be a senior next year and have started getting real serious about looking into colleges. I really want to major in Computer Science but don’t know if these schools have a good program or if I can even get into them.
Not gonna lie, I had a rough first two years of high school.
Freshmen: English, Honors Geometry, Honors World Studies, Physical Science, Spanish 1
Sophomore: English II, Honors Algebra II, American History, Biology, Spanish 2, Computer Science 1
I finished my sophomore year with a 3.2 GPA because I wasn’t focused on college and my future etc etc.
Junior: English III, CP Pre-Calc, Gov/Econ, Chemistry, Spanish 3, AP Computer Science
I worked my butt off to bring my GPA up and finished with a 3.45 and got a 30 on my ACT (31 superscore). I’m really hoping that my better than average ACT score will take some heat off of my not so good gpa.
I plan on taking these classes next year.
Senior: Advanced Comp, CP Calculus, Physics, AP Computer Science Principles
The schools I’m looking at are Miami University (Oxford), Toledo, Ohio University, University of Akron, and Ohio State.
I hope to have a 3.5+ GPA by the time I enroll and also maybe bring my ACT score up 1 or 2 points. If you have any other recommendations for schools, feel free to leave them and also leave your thoughts on the schools I have picked.
