Chance me for some realistic schools :) (JMU, UofSC, Clemson, FSU, etc.)

I’m still a junior so my gpa will change (probably increase) and I’m going to retake the SAT but here are some basic stats:

Northern Virginia Area (competitive academically)

GPA: 4.0 W
(Idk my unweighted)
SAT: 1250
Took 5 AP’s, taking 3 senior year
Took 7 honors classes, taking 1 senior year

  • Played club volleyball for 4 years
  • played high school volleyball for 2 years
    -over 300 volunteer hours
  • in Girl Scouts since kindergarten (have gotten many awards like bronze award, silver trefoil, silver award, and gold award)
  • Work a part time job at a garden center for 1 year (plan to continue)
  • volunteer at therapeutic horseback riding ranch
  • in national honors society
  • summer camp where I helped repair homes for a week

Wow, you’ve been busy! So many accomplishments. In your shoes, I’d spend the summer writing compelling essays and prepping to retake the SATs. Typically you can increase it by about 100 to 150 points by prepping. It might be very interesting to write about all that went into getting your Gold Award.

What major? That could make a big difference. Engineering for example is much more competitive at Virginia Tech than the rest of the majors. Agree with doing all you can to get SAT up and take ACT - some do better on that.
