so can anyone answer my question about siemens national finalist?

Yeah… I’m assuming you’re Ben’s partner?

haha yeahhh
whats your name? you should prolly pm it

You are very competitive for Stanford…
I won’t say an outright IN IN IN, but I would say great chnce at St

why do you bother? you will def get in. if you don’t, something is wrong with these admissions officers. seriously.

just wow. great chance, im rather jealous

…(=O)…(:O)…speechless

okay, from what i’m seeing on the first page, we sure have some optimists… colleges don’t want a laundry list, they want some activities with actual involvement. and they care, but not really that much about small regional awards, if you were nationally recognized, you might be better off. applying EA will only help, but i’d say that stanford is a mid reach.

edit

you do have some national awards and that book is pretty neat though. but i still think that Stanford is a mid to low reach…

I do agree with you that there are probably way too many optimists on the previous pages, but I do not agree with your labeling of my activities as a laundry list. I have put considerable amounts of effort into every single one of the activities that I have listed here. I don’t really understand how you can draw conclusions about the degree of my involvement in these activities from just a resume alone lol

Wow, this is so impressive. If you don’t get in, there’s no hope for the rest of us.
PLEASE CHANCE ME, I’m a new member and I would really appreciate it.

sorry, what i meant to say by laundry list, is that your activities are varied all over the place (as are mine), and that creates sort of an issue because colleges like well-angled people more than well-rounded people. i’m not trying to be insulting (if anything i feel like im usually pretty optimistic on threads), but im calling it how i see it, it could be totally incorrect…

WOW you have quite the amazing resume. Although schools like Stanford usually take kids who are extremely gifted or talented in specific area, you seem to truly be well-rounded. Kids with diversified ECs like yourself do get in to HYPSM, and I would not be surprised whatsoever if you get in to Stanford REA. However, it is so easy to get rejected/deferred for no reason lol, so have your RD apps ready to go! Best wishes, good luck :)

Would you chance me back please?

Nail your essays and you will have great chance to get it.

Yeah anonymous I understand where you’re coming from now. I guess I have always leaned towards trying to be more well rounded.
and big dreamer when you talk about kids being extremely gifted in one area what do you think would be a good representation of that? I was wondering because I somehow managed to advance to siemens nationals and was wondering if that was big enough of an award or not. and i’ll chance you right now
haha one of my essays was about breakdancing :)

@deb83r: Lol you have shown great success in various fields, which I would classify as rare. Most people aren’t good at writing and doing that well at a major science competition. I was referring to how some people say it’s better to be super talented in only science or only theater (for example), but you are successful in being well-rounded. Your ECs aren’t laundry-list in my eyes. Best wishes :)

Honestly one of the best resumes I’ve ever seen. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in, even at an unpredictable school like Stanford.
Good luck!
and wow

very impressive stats. I’d say low-reach b/c stanford is so incredibly selective.

every ivy type shcool (even though standford isnt a icy) is a major crap shoot. You have the stats to be top 30% so i would say yes. Is there anything interesting that you are going to add?

the decisions are quickly approaching
