<p>I've been avoiding this...but since the application is in I guess I want to know what my chances are</p>

<p>State: MI
School: Private, pretty good
Rank: im not sure, top 10%ish...
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: African American
GPA: 3.7 (i'm not sure what it is weighted)
SAT: 1980
SAT II: Bio(740), US History (720), Math II (680)
APs: Bio(5), Us History (4), Euro (3)
Total AP classes: 10 (Bio, Chem, Psych, Gov, US History, Euro, Shakespeare, AB Calc, AP Spanish V, World Lit)</p>

<p>GPA this year is only like 3.4 tho :( and taking 6 AP classes (Chem,Spanish,Psych,AB Calc, Gov, World Lit)</p>

<p>Summer Activities:
Study abroad in Spain for a month (09)
Stanford High School Summer College (08)</p>

<p>Community Service: (nothing stellar) - total about 50/60 hrs
Volunteering at Providence hospital
Volunteering at a Logan elementary school</p>

<p>Awards:
National Spanish Exam Bronze (3 years in a row)
National Society for High School Scholars
AP Scholar
Magna Cum Laude (3 years)

<p>umm...i guess thats it? Is there anything I'm missing?</p>

<p>Pros: hard classes, interest in spanish, i think my essays were well written
Cons: SAT score, GPA (especially this yr it isn't so good!), extracurriculars aren't so good</p>

<p>Ur prolly low reach /high match if u get ur SAT’s up to 2100
Right now ur a reach. Considering u r african american. If u were asian, dont even bother applying. :P</p>

<p>If you can “stellar”-ize your app [write some epically good essays about your unique traits, improve your SAT score, and maybe get into some leadership positions] I think you could greatly improve your overall application.</p>

<p>Your downward trend in grades will hurt you quite a bit.</p>

<p>You might be able to negate the lower GPA with the rigor of your courses and an incredible essay. If you have a chance, you should take the SAT again and bring it up a little bit.</p>

<p>Reach with your current numbers. ECs fail to compensate for your numbers. Very likely rejection.</p>

<p>You show that you tale on challenges which is good… So I don’t know how to tell. They might admire that quality.

<p>its definitely a reach. Although I hope I’m wrong, I believe it is more likely than not that you will be rejected. You do have low numbers, but that would have been alright if your ec’s, awards, essays and recs were stellar. Apparently, they are not and it doesn’t seem as though they can overcompensate. Sorry to be harsh, but its my opinion, and hopefully I’m wrong.</p>

<p>waaaiiit a second…i missed something. you’re African American? that will definitely bump you up. Stanford will still be a reach, but now it’s less of a reach.</p>

<p>Probably a reach. You can still get into some great schools with your stats though.</p>
