I thought that I might as well post here now that I’ve begun applying for colleges (lol)
I’m female, mixed Asian/White, and from FL.
I go to a typical public school.
Planning on a major in Electrical Engineering.
GPA: 3.95UW/4.51W (It’s not a 4.0 because I got a B in Algebra 1 in middle school lol)
Rank: 7/400
ACT: 34C 35E 33R 34M 34S (one sitting); 35 SS (35E 35R 34M 34S)
SAT: 1450 (740 M, 710 CR&W) (bad, I know, but I have to submit it!! I’m hoping the ACT covers it)
SAT 2: 740 Physics
650 M2 (AH!! Won’t submit, I’m retaking it in October and I’m actually studying, expecting 750+)
APs: Physics 1 (4), Calc AB (5), APUSH (4), AP LANG(4), WHAP(3) (ugh). Will have taken 11, 10 offered at school (I’m taking APCS on FLVS)
Senior CL: AP Calc BC, AP Env Sci, AP Psych, AP Human Geo, APCS, AP LIT, and a required honors course.
EC (I won’t go into much detail, I’m lazy atm)
MAO (10, 11, 12)
Beta (10, 11, 12)
Science Honor Society (11, 12)
NHS (11, 12) (Idk if I should bother listing)
History Club (11, 12) (won’t list probs)
Lacrosse Club (11, 12)
Student advisory Council (12, only seniors are selected apparently? I think it’s a leadership position)
Volunteered at a STEM museum in 10th grade
Private tutor in math (11, 12)
As you can clearly see, my ECs aren’t really great, and leadership isn’t really evident (I had TRIED for officer positions, but I lost )
I’m already set on writing the best essays I possibly can, but idk if that’s enough.
Colleges I’m applying to:
Stanford REA
GaTech
University of FL
UAB
University of Miami
I don’t have a huge list yet, but I’m wondering if I should bother with some of them.
