Your stats and ECs are amazing! Being in-state for UCB, UCLA, and UCD is definitely a plus, and I think you could easily get into all three. I would qualify UCB as a match, UCLA as a low match, and UCD as a safety. Your clubs reflect your interest in pre-med and I think you have a good angle going there! You seem very well-rounded too. Stanford is always tricky and with such a low acceptance rate it’s really hard to tell but I think you still have a really good shot!

Stanford: Reach
UCB: Reach
UCLA: Match
BUT
As strong academically as they come

@nsoods how is UCB a reach…??

@nsoods thanks for the chance
@Oberyn haha, I personally don’t think it’s a reach, but he’s entitled to his opinion

Wow. Your test scores are impressive. I think you have a pretty decent shot! Good luck!!

You’re a very good student, but Stanford is a high reach for anyone and everyone. You can’t chance those top schools.

Wow! Your academics are stellar. No doubt that those numbers are Stanford quality. I think they give you a really good shot at getting in, but make sure your applying for a real major (I haven’t heard of pre-med being a major, but I’ve seen it as a concentration). Since Stanford is located in CA, I’d push you to apply engineering and major in chemical engineering or any bioengineering (medical preferably) with a pre-med track. Most of your requirements for medical school would be engineering requirements. I think your ECs are great; don’t let people say they’re not good because you should be going for quality over quantity because admissions officers will just see quantity as merely a way to get into college, not because it interested you or because you had a passion you wanted to pursue. The final part of your application (the essay) needs to be the cherry on top because with a mediocre essay you won’t stand out as a human to the admissions officers. Good luck on your college pursuit!!

Hi Dream0n! Thanks for the chance.

After looking at your stats, you have everything down. Academics are all there and your ECs are excellent (idk why you would think they’re weak!). I would say the same thing you said to me; the essays are where you need to shine. Stanford is always a reach no matter how good the student, especially for Asians. The best advice I could give (though it’s probably beating the dead horse) is to show Stanford in your essays how YOUR contribution to the university is special. What makes you different? Not an easy question at all, I know. Go wild with creativity in your essays and don’t be afraid to write something completely out of the ordinary.

As for the other schools, Berkeley is a match. UCLA is a high match and UC-Davis is an obvious safety. You should get into all of those schools with ease.

Good luck!

@kevinjuan yeah, I already knew but thanks for clarifying & Ty for the chance!
@Dorhawk thanks!

Predictions on chance forums usually aren’t accurate, especially for schools such as Stanford! Stanford is very selective, but since your stats are exemplary enough, it all comes down to your essays. Don’t blow it!

Stanford is very selective and a high reach for everyone and blah blah blah… Your stats are good (as you’ve heard countless times in this thread). Just make sure that after decisions come out, you update all of us with the results. I’m really curious, and this is one of the most popular chance threads I’ve seen. :)

Lol this is so obviously a ■■■■■. Even if it was real, probably won’t get in because Stanford has a knack of rejecting kids that everyone thinks should get in.

@tennisman97 yeah I agree!
@capitalamerica yup, I’ll definitely let you know.
@McCombsHopeful lol, ■■■■■? I wouldn’t waste my time on here just to ■■■■■ :). Keep up that narrow-minded attitude of yours; your opinion doesn’t matter to me. Thanks for the comment though!

@Dream0n - Lol, okay. Don’t get your hopes up just because everyone is lauding you. Stay humble until you get your acceptance letter.

@McCombsHopeful lol alright, but calling me a ■■■■■ was unnecessary.

You will definitely get into Stanford with EA! What’s your class rank btw?
Only caution: 500 volunteering hours in a hospital doesn’t count and will not help you get in though. Colleges know that hospitals don’t allow high school students to actually take patient care experience. It’s about the quality of hours not quantity.
Other than that you look solid!
Can you please take your time to chance me back?

I’m not sure how to get URL but click on the John Hopkins one please

@dreamon

@tryhardalay sure! i’ll chance back!

You can’t chance school like Stanford, it doesn’t matter what people say here.
