bump

what kind of majoys you are applying for?

international relations or engineering.

Daaammnnnn! You in!

First of all, contrary to the poster above, you are not “in.” From what I’ve seen from your last posts,(you have several threads pertaining to the same topic, please stop creating new ones with different titles), you’re applying as an international which lessens your chances. Also, if your GPA from Andover is reported, it can hurt you quite a bit. Your ECs are great but, in my opinion, not good enough for an intentional. I don’t think your chances are very good.

@bbanks thanks for ur honesty, I’m also looking at some UCs, and another dream school is Carnegie Mellon. Are there any more likely schools u could suggest for an international?

@bbanks what are you talking about? This guy seems to clearly be working his butt off? He most certainly has a chance, and his chances are pretty okay. I’m not saying that he’s in, as that was a joke to make him feel good, but he really does have a good chance. Btw…2400 SAT will get you into a UCLA and those EC’s will most likely get you into Berkeley.

@chinaislife You’re welcome, and sorry if I came off as overly harsh. If you’re applying to the School of Computer Science at CMU, your chances are about the same as they are at Stanford, if not, then your chances are higher. You should have good chances at all the UCs, maybe rejected at 1 simply because of how large the applicant pool is. I don’t know enough about what kind of school you want to attend to suggest other schools, if you go to the college search forum <a href=“College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/</a> you can make a more detailed thread about what you’re looking for and there will be people who know more than I do about colleges willing to help.

@kommyjones27‌ This >girl< is applying international and doesn’t have any major awards or very impressive achievements. She’s applying from one of the most competitive international “zones” (I believe some schools have quotas on how many applicants they can accept from one geological area) and simply doesn’t have a hook going for her. Many applicants have internships or have created companies (although I admit the Microcredit business is impressive and the story behind it is nice. It will be the thing that gets her into Stanford if anything.) Her chances at Stanford are just not good.
