Rank: 21/285 (top 10%)
Course load: Rigorous, 6 APs and lots of honors courses (AP Scholar)
APs: AP USH (self-studied)
AP Calc AB (5) and AP Calc BC
AP Chemistry
AP English
AP Psychology</p>

<p>I'm taking 4 APs next year.</p>

<p>ACT: 34
SAT I: 2070 (retaking, and will hopefully make above 2250)
SAT IIs: USH: 770 Chemistry:770 Math IIc: 730 (retaking math II)
PSAT: 209 (I will probably get semi-finalist because I live in LA)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-Frisbee (4 years), Mu Alpha Theta (4 years), Science (4 years), Beta (3 years)
-Secretary of Science Club and officer of Frisbee club
-over 150+ hours of volunteering (with clubs and individual volunteering)
-played clarinet/piano for 5+ years (though I quit)
-Science Olympiad (went to nationals this year, won 1st at State and Regionals with 3 events)
-Science Bowl (went to state)
-FCC license (HAM radio operator, passed the test in 6th grade)
-2nd place at State Science Fair
-Toshiba Exploravision winner (entered with 3 others)
-doing an HHMI program this summer</p>

<p>I can write a decent essay and will apply Early Action. Also, I'm pretty sure I can get good/great recs.</p>

<p>What are my chances? Also, what are some alternative schools that are within reach for me?</p>

<p>you have a 34 act why would you retake the SAT?</p>

<p>Your chances look good at all but Stanford and Cornell (depending on what school, CAS being my reference) where your rank would be low and ECs probably not stand out enough.</p>

<p>Honestly, I don’t think he’d have a problem at Cornell. Stanford would be quite a bit more difficult. Best of luck to you nevertheless!</p>
