Essays: I think they were good-pretty good.
Teacher Recs: Pretty good
Counselor Recs: She thinks I'm very smart, but I have no clue what she ended up writing.

I know my GPA and ACT/SAT II are a bit low, but I'm thinking taking 13 AP/college courses by the end of the year might help offset that somewhat. Though, those are my weaknesses and I'm rather worried about it.

Feel free to be as honest as you can! I really want to go to Stern, but I'm really not sure if I will get in!

hmm gpa and act are alittle bit below Stern's avg. But you got along of things going for you. The major thing is you own your own business =O. And a successful one at that. That might be a major hook to get you in there.

So you do have a chance, depends on the admission process now =]. Good luck

You didn't tell us your SAT subject test scores (which are required for NYU Stern)--could you let us know about these.

NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Applying for Admission > Freshman Applicants > General Requirements

NyJeo- Thanks for the input!

Calc- Oh, yeah. I forgot to add those. I just did.

it will be tough, but stranger things have happened.

good luck =D

GPA and ACT scores are slightly towards the lower end of Stern's average. But you have good ECs (I think owning your own business would help), so that is a potential hook that can get you in. Good luck!!

Help me out?

Thanks guys!

username101- I replied as best as I could. Hope it helps some.

Any more opinions?

i got rejected with a 30 on my act but owning a business is a definite plus. I had many business related EC's and was still denied =( the sad truth is stern is an extremely competitive school. it is impossible to tell whether you will gain admission unfortunately. best of luck to you

Yeah, Stern is most definitely very competitive. I'm so nervous!

Thanks for posting and hopefully you'll get into another great business school!

Anyone else willing to?

i don't see why your ethnicity being indian would be a "negative".

Well, I love being Indian and I even wrote a short essay on why I'm proud of it!

However, Indians are somewhat of a majority at Stern so, from an admissions stand point, it's considered an "un-hook."

it's holistic admissions. i still doubt that any ethnicity would be considered an "un-hook" as long as they're a strong candidate in their own right. -shrug- that's what they told us when i was getting trained in the office of undergrad. admissions for the tour guide job. (ultimately didn't get it, heh.)

I know. Just from reading on here, it seemed that ethnicity does play a bigger role than some think and that it might impact me? I dunno.

Anyways... what do you think about my chances?
