I think you will be in the ball park with the information you provided. Just be sure to have good match and safety schools on your list too because the super selective schools are reaches for everyone. Good luck!

Haha thanks,I probably needed that.

The combination of your GPA, your ACT, and your URM status should make you a solid candidate at many T20 universities. In addition, your Texas location might be considered as adding a bit of “geographical diversity” to a Northeastern school like Cornell.

Assuming that your essays are strong, I would expect you to receive multiple offers from T20 schools. Of course, your odds are better at, say, Emory than at Harvard, but you have a realistic chance of getting into a top school.

@Texan5362
Why History, what are your potential career goals?

@emorynavy
Law school hopefully,but I’m open to switching majors.

@Texan5362
I figured, well then I hope Harvard, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, Duke, Vandy, Emory, Gtown, UVA are on your list
Along with a few safeties.

@MrSamford2014 Really,I thought Texas would be the exact opposite of geographic representation lol

These colleges, on a proportional basis, produce the most graduates who go on to highly-regarded law schools*:

Amherst
Brown
Claremont McKenna
Columbia
Cornell
Dartmouth
Duke
Georgetown
Hamilton
Harvard
Middlebury
Northwestern
Pomona
Stanford
Chicago
Michigan
Penn
USC
Yale
Yeshiva

In establishing your “T20” you may want to consider schools from within this group, along with others of appeal to you.
