You’re in. The only thing that you should truly be on the lookout for is the math entrance exam

Oh wait sorry my SAT scores are actually
Math:600
Verbal:540
Writing:700

I don’t agree with Awesomeirl. You have WAY too many EC’s which may seem like each one isn’t exactly legit or you basically signed yourself up for every club that was posted at your school. Also, that may be a little too many positions considering the fact that in order for the club to prosper, the officer’s must give full time and effort. Although your ethnicity may help you when applying to College, but this will not aid you in your endeavor to go to TAMS due to the fact that they do not take it into consideration (Stated on the App.) Also, it seems interesting that you’re writing score is very high because based on your EC’s it seems that Math should be up there-just a thought.
Good luck.

So what can I do to be more competitive or look better for the admissions committee

That’s up to you, not my application. Try to put what you think you did best. Let’s say if admissions called your school and said, “What does Film Club do?” and the school really has no idea or says, “They watch movies,” then I’m not sure if putting film club down on your application. These are all thoughts. Afterall, I’m not reading all of the applications. Also, flat 4.0 scale?

@ AllAboutTAMS
I have a GPA: 3.91

Oh. I see…

@ AllAboutTAMS
Hey are your currently in TAMS or are you applying? And if you had to give me a percentage in how likely i’m I getting into TAMS what would you say

Please do not ask me, I do not like to disclose information about myself.
I cannot tell you a “percentage” due to the fact that I do not know who you are competing against.

i agree with AllAboutTams. You have WAY too many ECs going on and you seem unfocused. My countless friends have attended TAMS and I am aware of TAMS standards.

Isn’t North Hills that school in Irving. All those kids try to match upto us Plano kids but it never works out. So I would say to not exaggerate your application. It seems like you are stretching it. CIA is a current international affairs club, I do not believe that it is a debate club. Simple things like that will bite you @ ijustwantogetin

Ok thanks, do you have any more suggestions for applying to TAMS that would help make my chance any better.

You have Silverado Retirement Home under Community Service and Work Experience. It’s not community service if you’re receiving pay for it or if it is listed under Work Experience/Internships/Summer Jobs.
Good Riddance.

I did community service first then i started to work there

I don’t agree with the other two people. My older brother is in TAMS and all of my friends are applying to TAMS. You barely stand a chance to make it. People in my school(Plano West) have way more extra curricular activities than you. What do you spend your time doing? You barely do anything. I suggest you step it up if you want to be accepted into such a prestigious program.

TheExpert1234 does have a point though. Ehh…I guess he is right. The more the better.

Exactly Jet418. My brother had a better application than him and was put on waiting list for TAMS. I want to give you a heads up @iwanttogetin. Good luck

Kids from Plano West have a harder time making it in. The admissions office even told us so. They have tons of kids from that one school applying so they limit the number they allow in.

The average SAT scores were about 1800 for those being admitted last year. I think you are fine. Just make sure you apply early decision and I think you will get in.

lmkh70, There is WAY more competition this year to get into TAMS then any other year. An 1800 will not do… 2000 at least
