Chance me for TAMS

I was applying early decision for TAMS this year and was wondering what my chances are for getting in:

Grades:
GPA; 4.7/5
Rank: 40/962
SAT Scores:
720-800 math (usually around 760 or 780)
620-690 reading
660-700 writing

Extracurriculars:
Select Soccer with LFCA in Classic League
High school soccer
Interact volunteer club
Robotics Club
UIL Math and science
Volunteer at library twice a month
AP Biology Tutor
Middle school math tutor
Debate team
Math honor society
Middle school football, cross country, track, and soccer

My school is FMHS so that many people aren’t applying to get in, so it isn’t as competitive as Plano and some other schools. I’m also applying early so what do you think are my chances of getting in?

Hey! Okay, since you’re applying early decision, I think you should be perfectly fine with those stats, and your extracurriculars seem really good too since a good portion of them are math and science focused. I was accepted into TAMS in 2014, and, though I’m sure it’s gotten more competitive since then, I can tell you that your stats are MUCH better than mine were back then.

I think the main thing that you need to focus on now is perfecting your interview. Be casual and talk like a normal person. I know that seems sorta obvious, but you would be surprised by how many people I saw trying to act like their entire lives revolved around school and math and science. And also, they’re gonna give you a math test before the interview, and you absolutely cannot miss a single question. MAYBE one, but you really shouldn’t miss any. But yeah, I would say that you’re probably gonna be accepted in March. And if not, don’t worry at all, they’ll wait list you and accept you in May for sure.

Bump

I’m a current TAMS student. The ED deadline just passed right? LOL my little sister is thinking of applying too, but probably just regular decision. Make sure your application essay was sincere and unique to you. Your stats seem pretty good. If no one else is applying from your school, you will definitely make it (and if you don’t screw over the interview!) Since I interact with them a often, I can tell you that the people in charge of admissions are looking for true intellectual and social leaders, not just superficial qualification nerds. They are really nice and as long as you are genuine, you should be fine.
