Some other information that might be necessary into the admissions process. I will get pretty good recommendation letters from my teachers, my essays are solid, and my interview skills are very good as well. Also in my school, they don’t offer Honors, IB, or Pre-AP. I took all the AP classes I could possibly take to make up for that. Also only 2-3 other people in my school are applying so there’s not much competition in my area I think (I don’t live in Plano or Dallas). If I’m missing anything please tell me, and thank you in advance.

I think that academically and in terms of extra curriculars you are more than qualified. Just make sure to write great essays and polish your application before submitting it. Also, I would highly suggest going on the tams website and getting a head start on studying for the math tests. Good Luck!

Alright thanks, good luck to you as well!

Ok so my SAT scores weren’t as good as I expected because I panicked during the test and bombed the reading and writing sections. I know it’s no excuse but my scores were…

Math - 700
Reading - 630 (Due to one really hard passage)
Writing - 640 (I panicked during the essay :frowning: )

Hello! That’s not bad at all. I heard that TAMS focuses mainly on the Math portion of the SAT and the Math tests that they give out on the interview day. I applied too, and I got a similar score. I think that you will be fine. Good luck!

Thanks!! I actually got the interview! What about you?

Hi I recently applied for TAMS and got put on the wait list. One crucial fact I forgot to put on my application is that I am currently in the process of securing Grant money for my research project, but what are my actual chances of getting in? And how much will this research proposition help me out?

Follow the instagram @tams2018 if you ended up getting in! (trying to make connections before summer-o)

Hey SNV2000, The research project will help you out a lot. I would e-mail Mrs. Beauchamp and ask if the selection committee can add that to your resume.
