Chance me for tcnj!!

chance me please!!
on an online database provided by my H.S., I've noticed that TCNJ's average SAT scores and GPAs have increased significantly over the past three years...this is the third time i've posted but i'm beginning to get nervous!!
TCNJ is my number 1 choice!! I want to apply ED.

SAT-2020 total
730- writing
650- reading
640- math

gpa- 4.08
ranking- 16/329 (top 5%)
job as a receptionist at a hair salon (20 hrs/wk)
VP of Future Educators Association (junior and senior year)
Pres. of Make A Wish (senior year)
asst. CCD teacher (junior and senior year)

i think you’re def in especially if you apply ed. good luck.

yea, I have similar scores and will apply regular decision. I think you have a great chance of being accepted. But your combined Math and CR score seems to be less than 1300 so maybe try raising it up 1300+.

You’re in. Period.

I think that you go to my high school because there’s the exact same number of people in our class, we’re both in NJ, and your GPA scale, given your class rank, seems the same as ours. Not sure if the FEA VP and Make-a-Wish pres are the same person though.

I understand your anxiety-- a girl from my school with very good ECs (Drum Major of 100 member marching band, President of 100+ member Key Club) and ranked 30 in a class of almost that size was rejected from TCNJ this year. Unfortunately, a lot of people think TCNJ is quite easy to get into, and it’s really not. But I feel like TCNJ has a greater stress on academics than ECs, so maybe that was why that girl from my school was rejected. I’m applying too, and I’ve noticed it doesn’t even have an essay supplement, which is good in one way, but it means your stats really need to stand out more.

If I were you, I’d take the SATs once again just because if you have a 730 in writing, with a little work I’m sure you can get that CR up to at least a 700, and then you’re golden. Good luck =)
