Hi! I am currently a junior in high school. Texas Christian is my absolute dream school; however, I have not seen much information about the average GPA for admission.
Here are my stats:
GPA- 3.3/3.4
Freshman year- 2.9
Sophomore year- 3.1
Junior year- I currently have a 3.6 and am hoping to bring it up to a 3.7 or 3.8

ECs:
Varsity swimming (5 years)
SADD Club
School Newspaper

Volunteer work:
Volunteer swim coach
Church work
Going on a service trip to New Orleans in the beginning of the summer

Other:
I went on a trip to DC with my school and am going on a trip to Europe with my school in the spring. I am opting to do work for the trip in order to receive credit for it.

My SATS are hopefully going to be an 1870

I come from an extremely competitive, private, catholic high school in NY.

Also, do I have an advantage coming from the northeast? One girl from my school applied this year and she said that we definately have an advantage coming from New York since not many people in this area apply to TCU.

Look, your chances seem solid. But to be honest, you should aim for something higher than 1870 on your SAT’s I aimed for 2290 and ended up with 1990. It isn’t even that difficult. I messed up in the end, I was scoring roughly between (my lowest) 2050 and (my highest) 2340. I would recommend you begin practicing as of now.

AminAkhhtar, I have been practicing since the beginning of last summer and my projected scores have been between an 1860-1900! Obviously it may be different when I take the actual test but that is what my tutors suspect I will get!

We live 20 minutes from TCU. Most schools seem to care more about the core sat scores math+reading than overall. TCU is not especially selective. Shoot for 1400 or so on your core sat and you will be fine.

Id say you’re a pretty solid match, especially if you can get a 1950/2000 on the SAT. Your ECs and volunteer work definitely put you in a good position.
