Hello,
I’ve posted a few “chance me” posts here, but I’ve just received my ACT scores, and want to know what exactly I’m looking at in terms of acceptance chances. I’m a US citizen living in EU, so I’m a US freshman for A&M and UT Austin, but I’m international for GA Tech (I asked every university). I want to study Computer Engineering.
GPA: 4.1/5.0 at a Slovenian public High School, top 30%.
SAT Scores:
Math: 660
Writing: 640
Reading: 600
ACT Scores:
Composite: 28
English: 29
Math: 33
Reading: 26
Science: 25
Would I have a problem with my ACT Composite? I know it’s not high, but will any of these schools look at my math score? I only had 20 days to study for the ACT (registered late Aug. 21st for Sept. 12th test), and I focused primarily on math. Thanks.
UT and Georgia Tech are reaches. Might be able to pull off A&M but I don’t know how competitive computer engineering is.
So I guess they don’t view ACT scores seperate as they do SAT scores? I only had 20 days to study for the ACT, and I focused mostly on math, which is why I got a 33 there but say, only 26 on reading…
Georgia Tech info is wrong. If you are a US citizen living abroad, you are out-of-state for state resident tuition purposes but still US applicant and not international for financial aid purposes.
Why not retake the ACT to improve your chances?
This was their response to whether I am a US freshman or int.
"Andrew,
You will have to apply as an international student since you have
attended high school outside of the US.
GO JACKETS!"
Also, I can’t retake the ACT. I’m applying EA, and I would get my scores too late anyway… And honestly, I’m done with all these tests, I took the SAT 3 times and ACT once, and that’s enough for me
Also, should I even send my SAT scores to these universities? Since they’re that much lower than my ACT scores?
