I’m applying to UTD and I was wondering what my chances of securing an AES scholarship are. I’m an international student currently attending high school in India.
Nationality: Indian
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 4.0/4.0 (Evaluated by WES. Not the online converter, an actual paid evaluation.)
SAT: 1st sitting: 1460/1600, 2nd sitting: 1490/1600; Superscore - 1520/1600.
Class rank: 1/60
IELTS: 8.5/9
My EC’s are decent, nothing stellar except for one national level achievement.
Just to follow up I was a bit concerned about the ‘other fees’ not covered by the AES mentioned on the FAQ page but found that they aren’t excessive at all. A huge relief from the crazy fees at OU that D16 is dealing with.
I thought it was interesting to charge a fee to change majors, I’m not sure if that is common or not. I thought the $150 fee for the optional Comet Camp was very reasonable.
@3scoutsmom Thanks a lot for the thorough answers. I’m aware that International students are not given the stipend. I’m hoping to get a full tuition waiver, fingers crossed.
Only students accepted prior to November 3rd have been notified. If OP was accepted 12-15, he would not have heard yet. The next round of notifications is scheduled for late January.
I don’t know for certain. When I spoke to them in December regarding my son (admitted 11/14), I was told late December. The webpage had your above quoted information added a few days later so that’s really the extent of my knowledge. Believe me I understand how stressful the process is. We are waiting on AES to make the final decision on which college to attend so I know the waiting is awful. Whenever you do hear, I wish you the best of luck,
