Hi I’m currently a junior!
Stats- 3.84 UW (this is kind of low because I moved back and forth between countries in high school)
34 ACT
700 Chem SAT II 750 Math SAT II
ECs- Debate FBLA MUN awards in all of these
varsity track, basketball in 9th grade, French Club officer, Environment Club, I also play the violin and helped start a tutoring club at my school and have done medical research and went to a governor’s school for health sciences
I was wondering what my chances were for the above schools
I was going to take the ACT again because my 34 was from a single sitting, also might take chem subject test again
It’s nearly impossible to chance for Ivies. Since they receive the cream of the crop applicants, the admissions people look beyond test scores and GPA. Solid genuine essays are important. Admissions love to see a sense of humor from the applicants. I had a friend who got into Harvard, and he wrote about his love of Pokemon.
Plus, all those Ivies you listed are very different. Colombia is in NYC while Dartmouth is in a much more remote location. Brown is very liberal and laid back and Dartmouth is greek life and sports oriented. Look into what you want and what will make you happy. Don’t just apply to the ivies because of their reputation, it will come across in your application.
@pickthetea Thank you! I was mainly looking at Brown and Columbia and was just curious about the other two. How do you think my stats fare up for Brown and Columbia
You have a good GPA (but I don’t know if you took APs or honors.) However, like I said before, so will countless other applicants to the Ivies, so I can’t really tell you if you’ll get in or not. What do you want to study? I would start from there.
@pickthetea I have pretty much studied all AP, Honors, or IB classes. I want to study Psychology or something in the biological sciences area as I would like to go to med school someday. and thank you!
