Chance me! For the following colleges:

Yeah, there is no guarantee, but honestly, undergraduate degrees really don’t matter. They just don’t in the sense that what you major in has no real impact on job prospects. You can major in literally anything and as long as you get field experience through internships, you will be fine. Grad school is when majors really matter.

@AnnieBeats‌ very true… so how likely would u say A&S is for me right now?

Even for Cornell overall (not engineering), OP’s CR & Math scores are near or at the 25%. Considering the admission rate of Cornell, it is still a solid reach. You may have a better chance if you are indeed URM. Unfortunately, Indian is not URM at any school. By the way, rarely peop[le call Native American as American Indian these days or on college application. No way that would be confused.

@billcsho‌ @anniebeats contradicting opinions… hmm lol ill figure it out

@billcsho What are you even talking about? OP has a 700 M and 640 CR.

@AnnieBeats‌ so im guessing Cornell superscores?

@AnnieBeats Did you read the Cornell enrolled freshmen stat PDF linked above? CR 640 is the 25%. Math 25% is 680 while 50% is at 730. That is what I am talking about (OP is at or near 25% in these section scores). Admission stat would even be slightly higher.

@billcsho Which means that the OP is at or exceeds the scores. Test scores are not everything Bill. Ivy League schools place emphasis on much more that. And when you include the subject test scores, the OP has a very high AI. That’s what matters. Not the individual sub scores.

I am not saying OP should not apply. I am just saying his chance is very low at both Cornell and UIUC. I can see OP has good GPA. Other than that OP has weak SAT and average EC and SAT2 score (only 1 so far) among other applicants for these schools. Admission stat just shows how the SAT scores are distributed. That already considered the holistic factors meaning those with weaker score need to have strength in other factors. Note that there are significant portions of students even exceeding the admission average got rejected at Cornell. Unless OP has a hook or something spectacular in EC, it is not very likely to be admitted with both CR & M scores at or near 25%.

@AnnieBeats‌ @billcsho‌ Thank you both
