Schools that I'm looking in to:
Claremont Mckenna
Scripps
Pomona

I forgot to add this:

high school type: public magnet ranked top ten in the nation

bump please!
I need to decide whether I should even bother applying

Apply, looks like you have got some great stuff up there. What have you got to lose? But what do you want to study? CMC is great if you want to be an econ/politics major and Pomona is good for pretty much anything you want to study. Pomona, Scripps and CMC really like to see activism, and it appears that you have got a lot of it. Good luck!

Although your SAT II scores are a bit on the low side, I’d encourage you to apply. You’ll never know unless you try.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the responses!
I’m interested in medicine. My only concern is that one of my classmates is also applying and she is valedictorian.

don’t be concerned about classmates applying, apply anyway.

Three of the four kids who applied from my D’s HS were accepted.

Go for it, apply!

Should I mention the fact that I have a physical disability?
I’ve been wrestling with the decision for a while.

Your disability makes it even better. Disability = Essay.

if you don’t apply, you’ll never know
