Chance me for the Ivies and Stanford/Caltech, please?

Ok, so I'm applying to: UC Berkeley, UCLA, Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, and UCSD.
What are my chances of getting into these schools, considering the stats listed below?

I'm an Asian Indian female, live in Southern California.
Rank: 1/512
Unweighted G.P.A: 4.0; Academic GPA: 4.583; UC GPA: 4.826
SAT I: MATH: 800; WRITING: 800; CR: 730; TOTAL: 2330
SAT II: MATH II:760; US History: 770; I'm taking the Chemistry one in November.

ACT: Haven't taken it. Do I really have to??

AP Classes and scores: 5's in U.S. History, English Language, Calc AB, World History. 4's in Computer science A, Art History, Euro History, Calc BC, and Chemistry. 3's in Computer science AB.

I'm currently taking AP Bio, AP Stat, AP Eng Lit, AP Macroeconomics and Physics.

My school doesn't have IB.

Extracurrics:

Varsity Tennis (4 years); Captain this year.
Mock Trial (2 years); Pre-trial defense attorney junior year; prosecution attorney senior year.
California Math League (4 years)
Interact Club (4 years) Treasurer senior year
Mandir (Temple) Youth Club (2 years) President both years.
Symphonic Band (2 years) Played clarinet
I play tabla (Indian drums), and take Indian classical dance lessons. For college apps, do activities like these also hold weight?
Future college graduates club (member 3 years)
RYLA leadership rotary group ( 1 year)

Community Service:

Did an ophthal related project in India (2 years) during the summer. I fundraised and then tested kids in slums there; we gave out free eyeglasses, and I worked with mentally handicapped kids also. 25-30 hours.
Volunteering at temple (4 years) about 100 hours.
Volunteering in doctor's office (4 years) about 50 hours.

Awards:

School's top scorer in math league/ AMC 10,12 for grade (all four years)
National Honor Society
CSF
Honorable mention at State Science fair
AP National Scholar

The areas I'm weak in are foreign language- I've only taken 2 years at the local college, community service hours, and a general focus. I took the October SAT to increase my CR score, but we haven't gotten the results yet. That said what are my chances of getting into the top schools? Should I be applying anywhere else, too?
If I got myself published in TeenInk, would that hold much value?

Wow, retake a 2330? That’s a bold move.

Your application is nothing short of amazing. I’d say you have a good chance at all the schools you want to go to. Having said that, those schools are pretty random in the students the take; remember that they reject some amazing applicants and accept some less-than-fantastic ones. The only downfall is that you’re Indian, so you’re ORM (in the same boat as me!) Good luck on your applications, though!

Hmm…yes, I think your SAT score was fine but if you end up doing better that’s always beneficial:) While you are ORM, your scores and ecs are exceptional! You are definitely competitive and will likely get into some of those schools. Best of luck!

First of all, thanks for the input…
Er, what’s an ORM?
I have a sneakin’ suspicion that my SAT scores might be lower than before, by say 30-40 points even if my crit reading score is higher. Is this going to hurt me a lot? A little?

ORM = Over Represented Minority

Well, you can just use score choice and send in your better score. Other schools superscore you SAT, so let’s say you get an 800 in CR your second time around, they’ll consider your score a 2400.

How does score choice work? Is it an option on collegeboard.com?
I feel like a complete idiot for asking these questions, but I really am new to this…

I’m not exactly sure, I haven’t done it yet. I’m sure it’s an option on the CollegeBoard website, though.

You’ll definetely get into all the uc’s. Harvard and Stanford might be harder. There are tons of ppl applyign there like you. What needs to make u stand out for these two are ur essays.

What about Caltech?

That depends on how well you express your interest in math/science.

Your scores are fine, and you obviously have some math/science ECs. I would say you’re pretty competitive for Caltech. Your essay and other app stuff will decide for sure, just like at every other competitive school.

Of course, the quality of your science project and your AMC scores will also have a large effect.
