Chance me for the Ivy leagues

Hi,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody!

I am applying to Cornell, Brown, UPenn and Columbia

Full pay International

SAT Score - 2150 ( M 700, W 720, CR 730 )

GPA - Don't know the exact American equivalent GPA but Colleges have calculated from 3.87 to 4.00

Extracurricular -

A highly successful regional level literacy campaign educating hundreds every year.

Very popular student leader and won the presidential election handsomely so controlled all most all the clubs and presidential positions a student can control in school.

A youth wing leader and youngest elected member of my society's resident welfare association

Essays - Rather long but wrote them straight from my heart. ( My Essay is too long, Will this have an adverse affect? )

So what could be my chances?

not high enough for those schools, the SAT is not great and that GPA is not that great at all for those schools. That GPA, has no APs? no honors classes at least I think you need to choose some other schools as safeties because all reaches for you just look at the stats.

The thing is, and I don’t get why people still want chances at Ivy League schools… These schools have the name of being an Ivy League school so they can enough applications each year (even thought the Ivy League is just an athletic League). What is named the “worst Ivy” is a dream school for many. With a 2150 SAT and roughly 3.6 GPA it is possible that you are admitted, but keep in mind that there are just as many 3.6 2150 and 4.0 2350 applicants as well. Admissions is a crapshoot for anyone applying to an Ivy League School, no matter if it is to Brown or Columbia, it’s all the same.

One thing, many posts in College Confidential say that applicants with low SAT scores are weeded out in the first screening. So how low is that SAT score? Will 2150 get me weeded out in the very first screening or will my application be atleast considered?

“Full pay International” this is a plus - international diversity without cost to the school. Your SAT’s won’t get you weeded out anywhere. You’re a contender just as many are.
